Baku:The Black Sea: A drone attack on October 5 targeted the foreign cargo ship 'Royad Mammadov' near Romania's coast, resulting in the death of an Azerbaijani citizen and another going missing.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Rustam Ismayil Hasanov, born in 1974 and serving as the ship's captain, was killed during the incident. Mahammad Hamza Suleymanzade, an Azerbaijani citizen born in 2002, is currently missing, prompting ongoing search efforts.

Other Azerbaijani crew members were rescued, with three requiring hospitalization. Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs is actively coordinating with diplomatic missions and relevant authorities to provide medical and consular assistance and to manage the repatriation of the deceased.

The Ministry expressed condolences to the victims' families and urged Azerbaijani citizens to avoid traveling to unstable regions or engaging in work that involves high-risk routes, especially on ships.
