Baku: On August 20, a delegation of Azerbaijani MPs will visit Kazakhstan to monitor the elections to the Kurultai, the country's new unicameral Parliament, as international observers. Azerbaijani MPs Sabina Salmanova, Nasib Mahamaliyev, Gulshan Pashayeva, and Gunay Afandiyeva will observe the election process in Astana, while MP Hikmat Mammadov will monitor the electoral process in Almaty.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the Azerbaijani delegation will assess the preparations and conditions at polling stations and observe the progress of voting and voter turnout. Sabina Salmanova will represent the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, Nasib Mahamaliyev the CIS Executive Committee, Gulshan Pashayeva the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, and Gunay Afandiyeva will be there on behalf of TURKPA.
The visit aims to ensure transparency and fairness in the electoral process, showcasing the importance of international oversight in maintaining democratic standards.
