TASHKENT: The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Azerbaijan has dispatched a delegation to Uzbekistan to observe the country’s upcoming parliamentary election, following an invitation from the Uzbek CEC. The visit underscores the ongoing cooperation between the two nations in election monitoring and electoral process management.

According to Trend News Agency, the Azerbaijani delegation, led by CEC Chairperson Mazahir Panahov, is set to engage in bilateral meetings with Uzbek CEC Chairperson Zayniddin Nizamkhojayev. Discussions will focus on enhancing inter-agency relations and exploring new opportunities for collaboration in election-related fields. The meetings will also address issues of mutual interest in the context of international election monitoring.

The Azerbaijani CEC has a history of participating in international election observation, previously engaging with organizations such as the Organization of Turkic States and the Commonwealth of Independent States in monitoring Uzbekistan’s parliament
ary elections. During this visit, the Azerbaijani officials will observe the voting process both in the capital, Tashkent, and at various regional polling stations.

The parliamentary election in Uzbekistan is scheduled for October 27, marking a significant event in the country’s political calendar.
