SHUSHA: A group of 33 international travelers from the British club Piki Reels visited Shusha as part of their journey through Azerbaijan’s Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur regions, examining historical sites and ongoing restoration efforts in the city.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the travelers, led by Piki Reels club head Yves Bouvier, familiarized themselves with the marks of Armenian vandalism and the restoration and reconstruction initiatives undertaken by Azerbaijan following Shusha’s liberation from occupation. The group toured several historical sites, including monuments of notable Azerbaijani figures such as Uzeyir Hajibayli, Bulbul, and Khurshidbanu Natavan, located in the city’s central square.

The travelers also visited the House-Museum of Khurshidbanu Natavan, the ‘Khan gizi’ spring, and the walls of the Shusha Fortress, concluding with a view of the Jidir Duzu plain. Over the past four years, Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur have hosted large delegations from major international trave
l networks on eleven occasions, attracting over 400 travelers from more than 50 countries.

These visits play a significant role in promoting Azerbaijani realities globally, offering firsthand insights into the destruction in liberated areas and the extensive restoration efforts underway. During their three-day tour, the delegation will also explore the districts of Fuzuli, Khojavand, Shusha, Khojali, Aghdam, Kalbajar, Lachin, Gubadli, Zangilan, and Jabrayil.
