Azerbaijani Embassy in US Opens Doors for Passport DC Festival

Baku: The Embassy of Azerbaijan in the United States participated in the 'Passport DC - Around the World Embassy Tour' festival, welcoming local and foreign guests to explore Azerbaijani culture and heritage. This annual festival is a significant platform for promoting cultural exchange and understanding among different nations.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Kimberly A. Bassett, Secretary of Washington DC, visited the Azerbaijani Embassy to experience Azerbaijani culture and national cuisine firsthand. During the event, Azerbaijani Ambassador Khazar Ibrahim presented a painting by artist Nubar Azimova, celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States and the bilateral relations between the US and Azerbaijan.

Ambassador Ibrahim emphasized the symbolic significance of the event, which took place near a tree planted by Hafiz Pashayev, Azerbaijan's first Ambassador to the United States. He noted Pashayev's crucial role in fostering the friendship and strategic partnership between the two countries. Discussions at the event highlighted the importance of cultural cooperation and the role of such initiatives in strengthening bilateral ties.

Kimberly A. Bassett praised the Azerbaijani Embassy's active involvement in these cultural events. Attendees enjoyed performances of national dances and a musical program by the Azerbaijani community, along with exhibitions of traditional national costumes.
