Baku: Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has announced that Azerbaijan and Switzerland are expected to sign new agreements soon. This announcement was made during a joint press conference held with Ignazio Cassis, Swiss Federal Councillor and Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, who also serves as the OSCE Chairman-in-Office.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Bayramov highlighted the robust investment relationship between the two nations, noting that Switzerland has invested $1.6 billion in Azerbaijan over the past three decades, while Azerbaijan's investments in Switzerland stand at $2.3 billion. The minister remarked that these figures indicate a balanced approach in their investment cooperation.

Bayramov also pointed out that the mutual trade in 2025 was notably successful, with the trade volume between the countries reaching approximately $1.8 billion. He added that 110 Swiss companies have been registered in Azerbaijan, with 87 actively operating in various sectors including industry, construction, agriculture, transport, and trade.

The Azerbaijani Foreign Minister concluded by stating that work is currently underway on several new documents between the two countries, expressing optimism that additional agreements will be signed in the near future.
