PARIS: Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestler Sabah Saleh Shariati took off with a victory at the Paris Olympics and advanced to the quarterfinals of the competition, Trend reports.

The Azerbaijani athlete, competing in the 130 kg weight category, had his first meeting with Heiki Nabi from Estonia, advancing to the 1/4 finals.

The Olympic Games are set to be held from July 26 through August 11.
