Baku: Azerbaijani journalists have arrived in the Kyrgyz capital to cover President Ilham Aliyev's working visit to Kyrgyzstan and the international events scheduled to be held in Bishkek, reports APA's correspondent dispatched to the city.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the next meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) member countries is set to occur in Bishkek under the chairmanship of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov. Additionally, a high-level meeting in the 'SCO Plus' format is planned for the same day.
During these meetings, the heads of state will exchange views on pressing issues on the international and regional agenda. Discussions will focus on the priorities for the SCO's future development and opportunities to enhance cooperation in several areas, including political, trade and economic, transport and logistics, digital, environmental, cultural, and humanitarian sectors.
The summit is expected to conclude with the signing of the Bishkek Declaration, dedicated to the SCO's 25th anniversary. Several documents and decisions aimed at strengthening cooperation within the organization and improving its operational mechanisms will also be signed.
