Baku:Sabina Aliyeva, the Azerbaijani Commissioner for Human Rights, met with United Nations Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan, Dmytro Shlapachenko.
According to the Azerbaijan State News Agency, During their meeting, Aliyeva outlined the national human rights reforms and detailed the Ombudsman's mandate alongside the ongoing efforts to safeguard fundamental human rights and freedoms. She emphasized the beneficial relationship between the Ombudsman Institution and the UN's charter- and treaty-based bodies, highlighting how these partnerships contribute to advancing human rights and fostering a culture of rights.
Aliyeva also discussed the importance of initiating joint projects and sharing expertise in key human rights areas to further strengthen the collaboration. Shlapachenko expressed gratitude for the meeting and conveyed his interest in enhancing cooperation in the protection of human rights.
