Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has sent a congratulatory letter to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the international recognition of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality. The gesture was reported by APA.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the letter emphasized the significant milestone reached by Turkmenistan with the recognition of its permanent neutrality status 30 years ago. President Aliyev highlighted the importance of this status in promoting Turkmenistan’s development and strengthening its position in the international community.

The letter acknowledged the deep-rooted philosophy of humanism and peace that characterizes Turkmenistan’s policy. President Aliyev noted Turkmenistan’s active contribution to global peace and security through its constructive international initiatives and its advocacy for peace on the global stage, which fosters international dialogue.

President Aliyev also reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s respect for Turkmenistan’s neutrality policy, pointing out Azerbaijan’s role as a co-author of United Nations General Assembly resolutions concerning Turkmenistan’s neutrality in 1995 and 2015. He expressed satisfaction with the current level of relations between the two countries and praised Berdimuhamedov’s efforts to strengthen interstate relations and fraternal ties.

The letter concluded with President Aliyev expressing confidence in the continued efforts to enhance the brotherhood and cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan. He conveyed his best wishes for robust health, happiness, and success to Berdimuhamedov, as well as peace and prosperity to the people of Turkmenistan.
