Azerbaijani President Discusses International Collaboration with UNCTAD Secretary-General


Baku: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev held a meeting with Rebeca Grynspan, the Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). The discussions underscored the growing collaboration between Azerbaijan and UN entities.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Rebeca Grynspan extended her congratulations to President Ilham Aliyev on the successful organization of COP29 in Azerbaijan, highlighting the notable outcomes of the event. The meeting also emphasized the significance of the 12th Global Baku Forum, facilitated by the Nizami Ganjavi International Center, in addressing critical global issues.



The dialogue further acknowledged the effective cooperation between Azerbaijan and UN structures, with special mention of Azerbaijan’s voluntary financial support to UN institutions. Additionally, it was announced that Azerbaijan will host the World Urban Forum in 2026, and the nation’s progress in achieving Sustainable Development Goals received commendation.
