Marneuli:A 13-year-old Azerbaijani girl has given birth to twins in the Marneuli district of Georgia.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, public activist Samira Bayramova reported the incident, noting that one of the newborns died at the maternity hospital, while the other is in serious condition.

Bayramova also stated that the young mother is an Azerbaijani citizen, and her spouse holds Georgian citizenship.

Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs has initiated an investigation into the case, focusing on the provision of Georgia's Criminal Code related to sexual intercourse with a person under the age of 16.
