Riyadh: Two Azerbaijani wrestlers claimed silver medals at the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Apasport.az reports. Women’s wrestler Ruzanna Mammadova, competing in the 62 kg weight category, and freestyle wrestler Islam Bazarqanov, in the 57 kg category, both reached the finals of their respective events but were defeated, earning silver medals for their commendable performances.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, in the 68 kg weight category, Nigar Mirzazade was set to compete against Bangladesh’s Halima Akter for the bronze medal. However, Mirzazade was awarded the bronze medal as her opponent did not appear for the match, securing another victory for Azerbaijan at the prestigious event.
