Azerbaijan’s Aliyar Aghayev to Officiate Croatia vs Faroe Islands Match in 2026 World Cup Qualifiers

Rijeka: Azerbaijan’s FIFA referee Aliyar Aghayev has been assigned to officiate the Croatia vs Faroe Islands match in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. The 38-year-old referee will be leading the officiating team for this significant match.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Aghayev will be assisted by Zeynal Zeynalov and Akif Amirali on the field, with Elchin Mesiyev serving as the fourth official. The Video Assistant Referee (VAR) duties will be handled by Portuguese referee Tiago Martins, accompanied by his compatriot Bruno Esteves as the Assistant Video Assistant Referee (AVAR).

The match is scheduled to take place on November 14 at the Stadion Rijeka in the city of Rijeka.
