TASHKENT: A delegation from Azerbaijan’s Central Election Commission (CEC), headed by Chairman Mazahir Panahov, has traveled to Uzbekistan to observe the upcoming parliamentary elections. The visit follows an invitation from Zayniddin Nizamkhodjaev, Chairman of Uzbekistan’s CEC, in anticipation of the elections for the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, scheduled for October 27.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the Azerbaijani delegation will engage in a series of bilateral meetings with Uzbek election officials and representatives from international election observation organizations. Discussions are expected to focus on enhancing cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan’s election bodies and exploring new opportunities for collaboration in the field of election management.
The delegation plans to monitor polling stations in Tashkent and other regions of Uzbekistan, ensuring a comprehensive observation of the electoral process.
