Baku: Azerbaijan's exports of pearls, precious metals, and jewellery have experienced a significant surge, rising more than 20-fold in the first seven months of 2026. In the period from January to July, the country exported $3.713 billion worth of natural and cultured pearls, precious and semi-precious stones, precious metals, jewellery, and related products.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, this figure marks a 20.6-fold increase compared to the same period last year, representing an additional $3.532 billion in exports. The notable rise in export values reflects Azerbaijan's growing presence in the global market for these luxury goods.
Additionally, during the same reporting period, Azerbaijan imported $56.542 million worth of similar products. This amount indicates a substantial 66.9-fold decrease in imports compared to the previous year, equating to a decline of $3.724 billion. The decrease in imports alongside the increase in exports highlights a significant shift in Azerbaijan's trade balance in this sector.
