Baku: Azerbaijan's oil exports have reached a significant milestone, totaling $9 billion in value during the first eight months of the year, with Italy emerging as the leading importer. In the period from January to August, Azerbaijan exported 8,470,707.19 tons of oil to Italy, valued at $5,226,065.04 thousand, securing Italy's position at the forefront of Azerbaijan's oil export markets.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the report from the State Customs Committee reveals that the Czech Republic is the second-largest importer of Azerbaijani oil, both in terms of value and volume. During the same reporting period, Azerbaijan exported 1,060,041.1 tons of oil worth $712,772.98 thousand to the Czech Republic.

Romania ranks third in Azerbaijan's oil export markets. From January to August, the country imported 924,913.09 tons of oil valued at $581,706.77 thousand from Azerbaijan. The data pertains to oil exports for which customs clearance was completed by the customs authorities during the reporting period.

In total, Azerbaijan exported 14,677,951.6 tons of oil, valued at $9,281,893.55 thousand, to more than ten countries during this period. The figures indicate the diverse range of countries that rely on Azerbaijani oil, highlighting the nation's role as a significant player in the global oil market.
