Azerbaijan’s Plastic Export Revenues Decline by 5%

Baku: Azerbaijan’s plastic export revenues experienced a decrease of 5% in the first ten months of this year. Azerbaijan exported 327,189 tons of plastics and plastic products, generating a revenue of 317 million 420 thousand US dollars, as reported by the State Customs Committee to APA-Economics.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, the export figures represent a decline of 4.6% in volume and 6.3% in revenue compared to the same period last year. Plastics and plastic products made up 1.47% of Azerbaijan’s total exports and 10.62% of non-oil sector exports during the January-October period.

In contrast, Azerbaijan’s imports of plastics and plastic products increased. During the same period, the country imported 265,789 tons of plastics and plastic products worth 483 million 883 thousand US dollars, marking an 8.6% increase in volume and an 8.7% increase in value year-over-year. These imports accounted for 2.52% of Azerbaijan’s total imports.
