Tbilisi: In the third quarter of this year, the number of Georgian citizens traveling abroad amounted to 784.7 thousand people, which is 3.4% more than the year before. The majority of these trips, 41.4%, were made by travelers aged 31-50.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the majority of trips abroad were to Trkiye, accounting for 34.3%, followed by Russia at 18.3%. Additionally, 14.6% of trips were made to Armenia, 1.8% to Azerbaijan, 16.4% to European Union countries, and 14.5% to other countries.

The report from the National Statistics Office of Georgia highlighted that 97.8% of trips abroad were repeat trips, and 36.1% were made to visit friends and relatives. Notably, Azerbaijan’s share of trips by Georgian citizens has seen changes over the year, with 2.3% in the first quarter, 1.3% in the second quarter, and 1.8% in the third quarter.
