Antalya:Azercosmos is actively participating in the 77th International Astronautical Congress (IAC) in Antalya, Turkey.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the congress, themed 'The World Needs More Space,' gathers experts from various fields around the globe to discuss the future of space exploration, sustainable space development, and international cooperation. The event also focuses on innovative technologies and the strategic importance of space in society.
Dunay Badirkhanov, Acting Chairman of the Board of Directors of Azercosmos, spoke at the 3rd Global Space Leaders Summit. He emphasized the significance of space technologies in tackling global issues like climate change, natural disasters, and resource security. Badirkhanov highlighted Azercosmos' capabilities in Earth observation and geospatial information systems, underlining the necessity of converting satellite data into actionable information for decision-making. The applications of satellite imagery and advanced technology in disaster management, agriculture, and environmental monitoring were also discussed.
The IAF Global Space Leaders Summit served as a platform for space agency leaders from nearly 50 countries to share expertise and explore future cooperation opportunities.
Azercosmos' SPACE Academy is also represented at the congress, with an 80-member National Scientific Team presenting their research. Azerbaijan achieved the second rank among 108 countries, with 814 scientific papers submitted to the event.
Additionally, the congress features a thermal vacuum chamber (TVAC) developed by Azercosmos engineers, showcasing its role in ground testing space equipment. The development underlines the contribution of space technologies to sustainable development and societal well-being.
