Baku: The closing ceremony of the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) was held, APA reports. Officials, UN representatives, and other guests attended the event, which began with an artistic program and featured video presentations.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed expressed gratitude to the Government and people of Azerbaijan for organizing WUF13. She highlighted the reconstruction efforts in Karabakh and other territories, emphasizing their role in fostering social solidarity, cultural development, and economic growth. Mohammed also stressed that cooperation observed in Baku is both a functioning mechanism and an effective tool for addressing major challenges.

WUF13 National Coordinator and Chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture Anar Guliyev informed participants about the forum's impact, noting that it attracted significant international media attention. Over 1,000 accredited media representatives covered WUF13, promoting the importance of sustainable urbanization and international cooperation on a global scale.

Anacl¡udia Rossbach, Executive Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), acknowledged Azerbaijan's significant contribution to the successful organization of the forum. She emphasized that the calls made at WUF13 in Baku should guide the global urban development agenda, uniting government representatives, ministers, mayors, and various stakeholders around housing policy as central to people's well-being.

The ceremony also featured opinions from representatives of different countries and UN officials. Concluding the event, a concert program was held, marking the end of the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum.
