Baku: An international conference titled ‘Relations between the judiciary and the other two powers of the state’ was held at the Baku Congress Center as part of the 67th Annual Meeting of the International Association of Judges (IAJ). The event marked the ‘Year of Constitution and Sovereignty’ and brought together 300 participants from 71 countries, including judges, lawyers, government officials, representatives of international organizations, and prominent legal experts.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the conference featured an address by the President of the Azerbaijan Union of Judges, Ramiz Rzayev, who emphasized the rule of law as a cornerstone of democratic society. The event included a Q and A session, allowing participants to engage in discussions on the relationship between the judiciary and other state powers.
An award ceremony followed the conference, where Inam Karimov, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and Chairman of the Judicial-Legal Council, Minister of Justice Farid Ahmadov, and Ramiz Rzayev, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Judges Association, received the honorary medal from the International Association of Judges. The conference underscored the significance of judicial independence and collaboration between state powers.
