Brazilian Foreign Minister Praises Azerbaijan for Evacuation Assistance

Baku: On March 23, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Brazil Mauro Vieira held a phone conversation with Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, APA reports citing MFA press service. During this conversation, the ministers discussed a variety of topics related to bilateral cooperation and regional security concerns.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the discussion included mutual interaction on multilateral platforms and the security situation in the Middle East. Both parties reviewed the activities of the Azerbaijan-Brazil Working Group on Trade and Investment, exploring opportunities for enhanced cooperation. They also focused on joint efforts in the climate agenda, particularly in coordination for COP29 and COP30.

The foreign ministers expressed serious concerns about the ongoing war in the Middle East, emphasizing the importance of preventing further escalation. They highlighted the necessity of resolving conflicts based on international law through dialogue and diplomatic means. Additionally, the Brazilian side expressed solidarity with Azerbaijan regarding a drone attack from Iran.

The Brazilian minister extended deep appreciation to Azerbaijan for aiding in the evacuation of Brazilian citizens and diplomats from Iran amid the current security concerns. The conversation also included exchanges on other issues of mutual interest.
