Baku: Iliana Iotova, President of the Republic of Bulgaria, extended her congratulations and best wishes to Azerbaijan on the occasion of its National Day. She expressed sincere gratitude for the hospitality she and her delegation received during the 13th session of the World Urban Forum in Baku.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, President Iotova highlighted the participation of over ten mayors from Bulgarian municipalities and representatives from higher educational institutions at the forum. She emphasized her satisfaction with the bilateral meetings held recently, noting the intensive political dialogue at the highest level between Bulgaria and Azerbaijan. President Iotova agreed on the importance of transforming positive political dynamics into practical cooperation and beneficial projects for both nations.
President Iotova underscored the significance of agreements made during discussions on energy cooperation, particularly focusing on increasing Azerbaijani gas supplies to Bulgarian companies and exploring a second energy corridor for green energy transmission involving Azerbaijan, Georgia, Trkiye, and Bulgaria. She emphasized the necessity of these investments in a world facing conflicts and insecurity. Additionally, she highlighted the importance of strengthening partnerships in industrial zones, technological parks, and expanding educational and cultural ties.
President Iotova extended an invitation to her Azerbaijani counterpart to visit Bulgaria for the inauguration of Shusha Park in Veliko Tarnovo, symbolizing the friendly relations between the two countries. She concluded with hopes of welcoming the Azerbaijani leader to Bulgaria soon, wishing him and his family good health and success in their responsibilities.
