Caspian Pipeline Consortium Initiates Essential Maintenance for Oil Flow Support

Novorossiysk: The Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) has commenced a scheduled replacement of hoses at the CPC-3 Single Point Mooring (SPM) system. This maintenance will temporarily take the system out of service for approximately three weeks, contingent on stable weather conditions.

According to Trend News Agency, CPC informed its shippers in advance about the maintenance work to ensure the continuous operation of oil production and transportation processes. The maintenance involves replacing floating and subsea hoses, with oil loading currently being conducted through CPC SPM-1 and CPC SPM-2.

The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan has aligned its oil transportation schedule along the Tengiz-Novorossiysk pipeline with the planned maintenance at CPC facilities. The CPC pipeline system is a significant energy project within the CIS region, with the Tengiz-Novorossiysk pipeline spanning 1,511 km. This pipeline is responsible for transporting more than two-thirds of Kazakhstan's oil exports, along with crude from Russian fields, including those in the Caspian region.

The CPC's shareholders include Russia, holding a 31 percent stake, Kazakhstan with 20.75 percent, U.S.-based Chevron at 15 percent, and ExxonMobil subsidiary Mobil Caspian Pipeline Company holding a 7.5 percent share, alongside other companies.
