Chairman of Caucasus Muslims Office Highlights Importance of Cultural and Spiritual Sovereignty in Azerbaijan’s Historical Territories

Baku: Ensuring cultural and spiritual sovereignty, as well as religious justice in Azerbaijan's historical territories, is a key priority following the restoration of the nation's territorial integrity, according to Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade, Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office. At a recent event organized in collaboration with the Western Azerbaijan Community, Pashazade emphasized the importance of these efforts, particularly in the regions of Garabagh, Zangezur, and Western Azerbaijan.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Pashazade stated that religious figures have specific responsibilities in the endeavor to restore justice in the religious and spiritual context. He also noted that the establishment of the Western Azerbaijan Community in 2022 serves as a significant example of President Ilham Aliyev's strategic state policy. This move, he added, is an effective response to the ongoing revanchist narratives and biased accusations from the Armenian Church and diaspora.
