CIS Leaders Invited to Global Mountain Summit in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek:President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Zhaparov, has extended an invitation to the heads of state of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) to attend the Second Global Mountain Summit, 'Bishkek+25,' scheduled for October 2027 in Kyrgyzstan.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, President Zhaparov made this announcement during a limited-format meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State. During the meeting, he emphasized the importance of cooperation in tourism and the development of mountain regions.

In addition to the summit, the Kyrgyz leader suggested organizing joint events under the CIS's auspices to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of the renowned Kyrgyz writer Chingiz Aitmatov in 2028.

Zhaparov concluded by affirming Kyrgyzstan's commitment to strengthening the Commonwealth and its continued contributions to this goal.
