BAKU: The media center designated for the upcoming 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) at the Baku Olympic Stadium is now fully operational, according to the COP29 Media Operations Director Pirim Pirimov. During a media tour, Pirimov detailed that the facility is ready to support 1,200 media representatives with optimal working conditions spread over an area of 6,325 square meters.

According to Trend News Agency, Pirimov stated, “The media center is fully ready. We have provided fully comfortable working conditions for 1,200 media representatives on an area of 6,325 square meters. There are small details left to be worked on. Work rooms have been allocated for the media. There are 300 desks for TV and radio broadcasters and the same number for print media. In addition, standup positions and studios are available. These studios can be reserved. The accreditation process is ongoing. The media center will work from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.” The detailed planning reflects the importance of media covera
ge in disseminating the outcomes and discussions of the conference to a global audience.

COP29 is scheduled to take place this November in Azerbaijan, a decision made during the COP28 plenary meeting in Dubai on December 11 last year. The UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, established at the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro in June 1992, aims to prevent dangerous interference in the climate system. The annual conference convenes parties from 198 countries to discuss and develop strategies against climate change, with the first COP held in Berlin in March 1995. The secretariat of the COP is located in Bonn.
