COP30 Executive Director Commends Azerbaijan for Hosting Baku Climate Week

Baku: 'I thank Azerbaijan for hosting Baku Climate Week and for the partnership provided,' COP30 Executive Director Ana Toni expressed during her address at a conference held as part of the Fourth Climate Week (CW4) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The event was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, APA reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Ana Toni outlined three primary objectives for the future. The first goal is to strengthen multilateralism, the second is to accelerate the implementation of climate action, and the final aim is to unite various stakeholders, from local governments to the general populace.

Ana Toni highlighted that despite the current geopolitical situation, approximately 56 decisions have been made with the involvement of nearly 194 countries. She also noted that changes have been observed both in the city and society after hosting COP29 in Baku. 'During this week, we must work on solutions. In particular, it is very important to engage the private sector more actively in this issue,' she emphasized.
