Deputy Minister of Defense of Kazakhstan Explores Digitalization in Azerbaijan

Baku: Pursuant to the bilateral cooperation plan signed between the Ministries of Defense of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, a Kazakh delegation has paid an official visit to Azerbaijan, APA reports. The visit is part of a strategic exchange aimed at enhancing military and digital collaboration between the two nations.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the delegation, led by Deputy Minister of Defense of Kazakhstan for Digitalization Mr. Darkhan Akhmediyev, began their visit by paying respects at the Alley of Martyrs. They honored the heroes who sacrificed their lives for the independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan by laying flowers.

In a key meeting held at the Ministry of Defense, Mr. Agil Gurbanov, Deputy Minister of Defense and Director General, engaged in discussions with Mr. Akhmediyev. They explored the current state and future prospects of cooperation in military, military-technical, and educational fields, among other shared interests.

The Kazakh delegation was also taken to several departments within the Azerbaijan Ministry of Defense. Briefings were conducted at the Main Operational Department, the Main Department of Communications and Information Technologies, and the International Military Cooperation Department. These sessions provided insights into the conditions and ongoing activities in these departments.

Further visits included the Jamshid Nakhchivanski Military Lyceum and the Main Department for Personnel. Here, the delegation learned about the Personnel Electronic Information System, which showcases the modern digital advancements in personnel management.

The visit also featured engagements at the Cybersecurity Center and a military unit of the Ministry of Defense. The Kazakh officials were introduced to the cybersecurity measures of modern weapon systems and information technology assets used by the Azerbaijan Army. This included demonstrations of modern communication technologies and AI-based cyber defense capabilities designed to counter cyber threats.

Throughout their visit, the delegation received comprehensive briefings on the organizational structure and operational activities of various units. The primary objective of the visit was to facilitate an exchange of experience and knowledge in army development between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.
