Baku: The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has highlighted the significant impact of U.S. tariffs on Azerbaijan's aluminum exports, marking the country as one of the most affected in the region.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Azerbaijan is facing a substantial tariff burden due to the tariffs imposed by the United States. The report indicates that these tariffs are primarily affecting Azerbaijan's aluminum exports. Initially, the tariff applied to Azerbaijan was 5% in the first half of 2024, but it has since surged to 16-17% in the first half of the current year.
Overall, the average effective tariff rate for goods exported from EBRD regions to the U.S. has risen by 2.7 percentage points in the first half of 2025, illustrating the broader impact of U.S. tariff policies on the region.
