Baku: Employment contracts in Azerbaijan experienced a significant increase of 45 percent between 2018 and 2025, as reported by Anar Aliyev, the country’s Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population. This growth, which corresponds to 595,000 new contracts, was primarily driven by the private sector, accounting for 92 percent of the increase. During the same timeframe, the national wage fund also saw a substantial rise, growing 3.12 times, with the non-state sector experiencing a 3.16-fold increase.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the minister made these remarks during the presentation ceremony of the ‘Dayag’ award. He emphasized the role of the Employment Strategy of Azerbaijan for 2019-2030, which was approved by a decree from the head of state. This strategy forms the foundation of the country’s long-term employment policy, aiming to ensure effective employment of the population by addressing the challenges of the modern labor market.
