Baku: President of Trkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan has addressed the participants of the Turkic World Week dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First Turkological Congress, APA reports. The address, delivered by Trkiye's Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism, G¶khan Yazgi, focused on Azerbaijan's contributions to the common goals of the Turkic states.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Erdogan expressed his hopes that the congress would produce beneficial outcomes for the Turkic world. He emphasized the historical significance of the Baku Turkological Congress, which aimed to strengthen awareness of shared history and culture among Turkic states. Erdogan highlighted the importance of keeping alive the ideas bequeathed by the Baku Congress and passing them on to future generations.
Erdogan reiterated Trkiye's commitment to the motto of Ismail Gaspirali, "Unity in language, thought, and action," and emphasized the ongoing efforts to deepen cooperation within the Organization of Turkic States. He described the upcoming Organization of Turkic States Summit in Ankara as a potential turning point for Turkic world integration, where important decisions are expected to be made.
The president praised Azerbaijan as a strong symbol of Turkic unity and solidarity, acknowledging its role in contributing to the shared goals of the Turkic states.
