BAKU — Evebete Alene Yalev, a member of the Ethiopian parliament, has commended Azerbaijan's handling of its recent parliamentary elections, describing them as a model of democratic practice.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Ethiopian delegation, which has been in Baku since August 29, was impressed with the conduct of the elections by the Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan. "All conditions were created for us to independently observe the elections," Yalev said, noting the absence of security forces around polling stations and the peaceful, democratic, and free atmosphere of the election process.
