Baku: The European TeamGym Championship is currently taking place in Baku, Azerbaijan, gathering elite gymnastics teams from across Europe to compete for the continental title from October 16 to 19.

According to Trend News Agency, the championship features competitions across three apparatuses: the TeamGym carpet, tumbling track, and mini-trampoline. Hosted at the National Gymnastics Arena, the event showcases teams from the Czech Republic, Denmark, Austria, Estonia, Finland, Great Britain, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal, Norway, and Sweden. The Azerbaijan national team is also participating, representing the host country.

TeamGym, a discipline known for its emphasis on teamwork and collective performance rather than individual prowess, has been actively developing in Azerbaijan since 2018. The country now boasts professional athletes, coaches, and qualified judges in this sport. Success in TeamGym is not only measured by individual skills but also by how well team members synchronize
their performances and handle both physical and psychological pressures during their routines.
