Baku: ‘Solving specific issues arising from the application of AI technologies to the media sphere is one of the important challenges of our time,’ said Ahmad Ismayilov, Executive Director of the Media Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, during his speech at the II Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Media Forum on ‘Digital Transformation and Media,” APA reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Ismayilov emphasized the necessity for acquiring new knowledge and skills to harness the opportunities AI provides, as well as to modernize the information landscape of the countries involved. He stressed that the media should leverage artificial intelligence not just for improving form but also in the creation of more engaging content. He noted that AI is essential for preparing content in line with journalistic principles, including fact-checking, analytical analysis, comparisons, and especially for visualizing material.
Ahmad Ismayilov pointed out that journalism has already entered a new and distinct phase of development due to this modern approach. He remarked that several countries’ media outlets are already benefiting from technological advancements. Ismayilov assured that they are closely observing this evolution, analyzing it thoroughly, and proposing various initiatives to enhance the competitiveness of the media in the digital environment.
