Baku: A fake comment falsely attributed to the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan regarding the statements of the President of Azerbaijan has been circulated on several social media accounts, the Media Development Agency said in a statement, APA reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, these fabricated claims, which have recently turned into a campaign, are an example of gross information manipulation aimed at misleading public opinion.
The statement emphasized the importance of relying solely on information from official sources, urging the public to seek information reflecting the official stance of the state from these outlets, including the country’s news agencies and other professional media entities.
The agency called on Azerbaijani citizens, journalists, and public activists to maintain principledness in the face of such situations. It encouraged vigilance in an environment where campaigns based on fake and false information, and the trend of creating content using “deep fake” technologies, are gaining momentum.
