Shusha: Vagif Poetry Days are being held in the city of Shusha, APA’s correspondent dispatched to Shusha reports. The opening ceremony took place in front of the museum-mausoleum complex of Molla Panah Vagif, marking the start of an event celebrating the legacy of the renowned poet and statesman.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the opening ceremony featured speeches from prominent individuals, including Anar, People’s Writer and chairman of the Azerbaijan Writers’ Union; Aktoty Raimkulova, president of the Turkish Culture and Heritage Foundation; and academician Nizami Jafarov. The event drew attention from notable figures in literature, science, and culture.

The Vagif Poetry Days are organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Ministry of Culture. The event began on July 14 in Gazakh, continued on July 15 in Ganja, and on July 16 in Aghdam. The closing ceremony is scheduled to take place tomorrow in Shusha.

The festival has historical significance, as its roots trace back to January 14, 1982, when the mausoleum of Molla Panah Vagif was inaugurated in Shusha with the participation of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev. At that time, Heydar Aliyev endorsed the initiative of literary figures and instructed the establishment of the Vagif Poetry Days, which first took place in July 1982.
