President Ilham Aliyev and German Economic Leader Discuss Cooperation in Berlin

Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with Michael Harms, Chairman of the Eastern Committee of the German Economy, in Berlin. The meeting took place on July 20 and focused on exploring collaborative opportunities between Azerbaijani and German business sectors.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, the discussions underscored the increasing interest from both Azerbaijani and German businessmen and companies in forming partnerships. Efforts are being made to institutionalize collaboration in various sectors, including the traditional and alternative energy sectors. The meeting also covered topics related to connectivity, transport, and logistics, with a particular focus on the Middle Corridor.

The dialogue further highlighted the adoption of a State Program on agriculture in Azerbaijan, which opens the door for the application of advanced German technologies in agriculture, particularly in the realm of "smart agriculture." Both parties expressed optimism for cooperation in this field.

Additionally, the conversation touched upon ways to leverage Azerbaijan's tourism potential, along with other issues of mutual interest, marking a significant step in strengthening Azerbaijan-Germany economic ties.
