ERZINCAN: The First International Symposium of Turkish Diaspora has commenced at Erzincan Binali Yildirim University, bringing together various stakeholders to discuss the influence and future of Turks living abroad, as reported by Trend News Agency.

According to Trend News Agency, the event is a collaborative effort between the Office for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) of the Republic of Trkiye, Erzincan Governorate, Erzincan Municipality, and Erzincan Binali Yildirim University, among other partners. The symposium aims to foster discussions on the role and impact of the Turkish diaspora worldwide.

The symposium features a lineup of distinguished speakers including the Rector of Erzincan Binali Yildirim University, Prof. Akin Levent, who opened the event with welcoming remarks. Significant figures such as the Head of YTB Abdullah Eren, Erzincan Governor Hamza Aydogdu, and Chairman of Erzincan Municipality Bekir Aksu also addressed the attendees. Yilmaz, participated via an online platform, highlighting that over 7 million Turks live outside Trkiye.

Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States, Binali Yildirim, emphasized the strength of the Turkish diaspora and its representation of Turkic culture and values globally. He expressed a commitment to enhancing the Turkic world’s role on the international stage. Additionally, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Diaspora of Azerbaijan, Elshad Aliyev, conveyed greetings from Chairman Fuad Muradov and noted the importance President Ilham Aliyev places on the unity of Turkic states. Aliyev discussed the future goals for the Turkic world and the achievements stemming from their concerted policies.

The symposium is scheduled to conclude on October 16, 2024, and is expected to produce significant insights and proposals to strengthen the global presence and unity of the Turkish diaspora.
