Baku: The Bilgah Art School was officially opened in Baku on August 26, marking a significant development in the city's cultural landscape. The inauguration ceremony was graced by the presence of Mehriban Aliyeva, the First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, along with her daughter, Arzu Aliyeva.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the Minister of Culture, Adil Karimli, provided an overview of the advancements at the newly established art school to the First Lady. The Bilgah Art School is a product of the reorganization of the Bilgah Settlement House of Culture, Children's Music School No. 27, and Library Branch No. 10 of the Sabunchu District Centralized Library System.

The original building of the Bilgah Settlement House of Culture, built in 1987, had fallen into disrepair, rendering it unsuitable for use. In response, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation spearheaded the construction of a new, modern 220-seat school building. This facility is fully furnished and equipped with necessary educational tools and visual aids, offering specialized rooms for music, music theory, choir, photography, painting, sculpture, and design. Additional features include a choreography hall, assembly hall, cloakroom, library, and canteen.

Enhancing the overall environment, landscaping and greening projects were also undertaken in the school's courtyard, providing a vibrant and welcoming space for students and visitors alike.
