Baku:The "Fly to Baku. Art Weekend. Sense the Future NOW" event will be held in Baku from October 30 to November 1, 2026. This festival is set to feature a wide array of contemporary artistic practices, including performance-based and interactive projects that aim to engage audiences directly with the artworks, encouraging them to become part of the artistic experience.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the festival will explore themes such as the connection between people and nature, environmental responsibility, and inclusivity. It will also address questions about what will remain for future generations, through various artistic expressions.
One of the highlights is the documentary "The Hammer," which delves into Simon Vallon's examination of de Pury's life and career, exploring the intricate relationship between art and the international auction business. Another engaging feature for young audiences is "The Wild Five" interactive programme, which introduces five emblematic animals of the Caucasus through workshops and a theatrical performance at the Stone Chronicle Museum.
The event will also include Russian artist Konstantin Soldatov's audiovisual performance "Our Home," which invites audiences into a landscape of personal memory and the sounds of Baku, and the "Flight Without Borders" project by DanceAbility Azerbaijan, focusing on the impact of human activity on bird species in Azerbaijan.
Several other exhibitions and performances will be held at venues such as the Stone Chronicle Museum and the Maksud Ibrahimbeyov Creative Center. An official Fly to Baku mobile app will be available to help visitors explore the full programme, select events, and plan their visits across the city's cultural landmarks.
