Baku: The trial of Abdulla Ibrahimli, Ibrahim Asadli, Elchin Bayramli, and Mehman Zeynalov concluded with the announcement of their sentences at the Nizami District Court. The men were accused of distributing materials promoting communist ideology on social media and attempting to march with USSR flags.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Ibrahim Asadli and Abdulla Ibrahimli received sentences of two years in prison each. Elchin Bayramli and Mehman Zeynalov were sentenced to one year and six months in prison. The case attracted attention after videos circulated on social media last November, showing individuals attempting to hold a march with USSR flags and promoting communist ideology.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs intervened, identifying and detaining the organizers, who were subsequently placed in pretrial detention for three months. They faced charges under Article 233 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to organizing actions that cause a breach of public order or actively participating in such actions.
