Baku: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Azerbaijan is actively developing a new project to bolster the representation of Azerbaijani citizens in international organizations. "We have recently been developing a separate area within multilateral diplomacy aimed at supporting Azerbaijani citizens in being elected to elected bodies of international organizations and securing employment in their secretariat bodies," Deputy Foreign Minister Yalchin Rafiyev stated in an interview with the APA.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the deputy minister highlighted two main strategies for enhancing Azerbaijani presence in these organizations. The first strategy involves representation in elected bodies, where Azerbaijani citizens or state institutions nominate candidates, and the MFA along with diplomatic missions work extensively to garner support for these candidates. The second strategy targets employment in secretariat bodies, which requires candidates to navigate a competitive recruitment process, sometimes necessitating state support for specific positions.

The MFA's future project aims to raise awareness among Azerbaijani citizens about the recruitment processes in international organizations. This initiative is expected to introduce a significant innovation and assure citizens that the state is committed to supporting them in securing roles within these global entities.
