BAKU – FourFourTwo has unveiled its annual ranking of the world’s top 10 goalkeepers, showcasing a blend of established legends and rising stars in the field of soccer.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the list was compiled by a team of experts from FourFourTwo, who meticulously analyzed both current form and historical impact within the game. This year’s rankings saw Alisson from Liverpool clinch the top spot, admired for his exceptional shot-stopping and ball-handling skills. Manchester City’s Ederson followed in second place, recognized for his critical role in the team’s recent successes and his exceptional ability with the ball at his feet.
David Raya of Arsenal took the third spot, hailed as the Gunners' player of the season due to his crucial saves and consistent performance. Paris Saint-Germain’s Gianluigi Donnarumma, despite a challenging season, ranked fourth, followed by Bayern Munich's veteran Manuel Neuer, who remains a top contender even after recovering from a serious injury.
Thibaut Courtois of Real Madrid, who made a strong comeback from an injury, ranked sixth. Milan’s Mike Maignan, recognized as the best goalkeeper of Euro 2024, came in seventh, while Unai Simon of Athletic Club and Giorgi Mamardashvili of Valencia, who is on loan from Liverpool, secured the eighth and ninth positions, respectively. Emiliano Martinez of Aston Villa rounded out the list at tenth, celebrated for his ability to handle high-pressure situations effectively, especially in penalty shootouts.
