Fuat Oktay: Trkiye and Azerbaijan Favor Negotiated Resolution to Iran-US Dispute

Baku: 'Iran is an issue that directly affects Trkiye and Azerbaijan,' Fuat Oktay, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Grand National Assembly of Trkiye, told journalists in Baku, APA reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Oktay emphasized the potential regional impact if a situation similar to Syria's turmoil were to develop in Iran. He noted that while the effects would be global, they would be felt more strongly in Azerbaijan and Trkiye. Consequently, both nations are advocating for a negotiated resolution to the Iran-US dispute. Oktay highlighted Trkiye's active efforts to promote dialogue and negotiation, expressing concern over the presence of U.S. military forces in the region, which he said contributes to global unease. He expressed hope for a swift resolution to prevent any confrontation.
