Brussels: The level of gas filling in underground storage facilities across European Union countries has reached approximately 65.13%, amounting to 71.4 billion cubic meters. This storage level is notably 8.48 percentage points below the average over the past five years.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the European Association of Gas Infrastructure Operators (Gas Infrastructure Europe, GIE) has highlighted that EU countries are required by the European Commission to ensure their gas storage facilities are filled to 90% capacity by November 1 each year. This mandate is designed to safeguard against supply disruptions or unusually cold weather conditions during the winter months.

Furthermore, it is noteworthy that Azerbaijani gas has been transported to Europe via the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) since December 31, 2020. This development plays a crucial role in diversifying the energy supply and enhancing energy security in Europe.
