TBILISI: The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Georgia has declared the ruling “Georgian Dream” party as the winner of the recent parliamentary election, securing 54.08 percent of the votes. This announcement was made by Giorgi Kalandarishvili, the chair of the CEC, following the processing of data from the majority of polling stations.

According to Trend News Agency, Kalandarishvili stated that results have been compiled from 3,100 out of 3,111 polling stations. The remaining stations are located abroad, with updates expected once additional data is received. The election also saw four other parties surpass the 5 percent electoral threshold. “Coalition for Change” garnered 10.92 percent, “United National Movement” obtained 10.12 percent, “Strong Georgia” received 8.72 percent, and “For Georgia” achieved 7.76 percent of the votes.
