Baku:Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova met with Dirk L¶lke, the German Ambassador to Azerbaijan, on September 23.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the meeting was an opportunity to acknowledge the enhanced bilateral relations following President Ilham Aliyev's official visit to Germany in July. During this visit, the signing of the Joint Declaration on the Strategic Agenda for Bilateral Partnership and the establishment of the Azerbaijan-Germany Business Council were significant milestones, offering a new framework for developing bilateral ties.

The discussion also highlighted the importance of expanding cooperation between Azerbaijan and Germany in various sectors, such as education and humanitarian affairs. The roles of both parliaments, along with reciprocal visits and ongoing dialogue, were recognized as crucial elements in strengthening these ties.

Additionally, emphasis was placed on the contribution of parliamentary friendship groups in advancing interparliamentary relations, with opportunities identified for further collaboration within international parliamentary organizations. The meeting concluded with an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest.
