GNAT Committee Chair Links Trkiye-Armenia Relations to Azerbaijan Normalization

Ankara: The normalization of Trkiye-Armenia relations is directly linked to the normalization of Azerbaijan-Armenia relations, Fuat Oktay, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Grand National Assembly of Trkiye (GNAT), told journalists, APA reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Oktay emphasized that these processes are being carried out in parallel. He expressed hope that the region's future agenda would focus on peace, prosperity, and development rather than conflicts. Oktay stated, "We hope that all of this will progress very quickly and that the region's agenda will be defined not by conflicts, but by peace, prosperity, and development. From now on, we will focus more on the future."

The GNAT committee chair highlighted that within the framework of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations, initiatives such as the transportation of wheat via Kazakhstan and Russia and the initiation of trade relations showcase Azerbaijan's self-confidence. Oktay pointed out that Azerbaijan has begun to implement the agreement in practice, even before it is officially signed or any legal obligations arise, stating, "This is a very important indicator and demonstrates Azerbaijan's confidence in itself."
